Bought the Vivoactive watch on a whim. When it was fully charged I started to wear it. Within a few hours the battery was flat, I would say less than 2 hours! Looked at forums online and it basically transpired that in order for the watch to function for any length of time you have to have almost all the features turned off! What is the point of this? Anyway for this reason I returned it for a refund. Using tracked Royal Mail it was received and signed for..... Then nothing! No refund, so called customer service. Quarantine for 3 days, then refund will be processed. Seemed a reasonable response so waited well over a week. Called again, and after a very thorough conversation with a very helpful call handler was told my refund would be processed immediately. It wasn't! I raised a paypal dispute with no response so escalated to a claim. Still no response from Garmin so Paypal refunded me. Shocking customer service, won't be rushing to buy online again without seeing the product. Whats the point of a watch with features you have to have turned off for the battery to last more than a couple of hours!

Garmin now own Tacx . Flux s type 2 trainer returned under warranty as bluetooth packed up . Asked to strip it down before sending ( freehub etc)
On face of it seemed helpful but then received a type 1 unit replacement in return 2 weeks later- useless as needed type 2 unit to fit the stripped down bits i was asked to hang on to. Type 1 unit returned .
2 weeks later im told no type 2 units available until end of feb at earliest .
So that will be 2 months without my trainer .
Rubbish .

Bad customer experience

My Garmin S1 strap broke and I contacted them for a replacement but they said it was discontinued/ unavailable but offered a discount for new watch if I sent them the S1
So I ordered the S42 & paid the discounted price mid May and sent them my S1 checking first that they had stock which they confirmed because I didn't want to be left without something
I subsequently chased progress some weeks later and they said they were out of stock and I would have to wait until late June
I said that I had had a really bad customer experience with them and I wanted to cancel and for them to return my S1 and refund me - they arrogantly said that was not possible
I called today to insist upon cancellation saying I no longer had confidence in Garmin and would buy elsewhere
I will no longer be a Garmin customer based on this experience

The customer support is garbage

DO NOT order anything from Garmin, go with Wahoo. Garmin has an awful customer support team that is just money hungry. Rather than fixing a defective device that's all over the internet saying it's an issue, KURT from Garmin got very snotty and said, well that's from 5 years ago so it's not at all credible. Then I showed him others and he kept making excuses that it's not a "known" issue with Garmin and I would have to PAY FOR A NEW device.

Garmin replacement policy for a defective watch is terrible

My vivoactive 4 has been resetting after owning it only 4 months. Garmin support has had me do soft resets, hard resets, and factory resets. Nothing works. Garmin has offered to replace my watch with a refurbished watch and not a new one. They don't seem to understand or care that I do not want to risk inheriting a watch that has already failed and likely has other bugs lurking. Bottom line, the watch is great (if it worked), but Garmin's replacement policies are terrible.

GARMIN TECHNICAL SUPPORT SCAM!

SCAM SCAM SCAM! I have been working with Garmin technical support for my Garmin 2699 auto GPS. Garmin updated the software to Ver 8.80 plus the maps. They created a problem by queing the wrong maps for United States. The 2nd map file was incorrect and disabled the voice command function. Initial problem reported on Apr 11 None to the Garmin support persons ever checked the web site for correct files. After 6 times downloading the maps, I contacted chat and was put in contact with a (?) Garmin support person who would not work on my Garmin problem until he installed Norton swr and Malware swr which he invoiced for $400.00. He did not fix the Garmin problem. A 2nd Tech finally called me and loaded the correct maps into the 2699 that fixed the problem. He insisted I pay the $400.00 which was a scam! Turns out both tech were from USA Mart LLC out of Muncie, IND. This a SWR SCAM site. *******224 SCAM SCAM SCAM

Issue with GPS Unit

Had an issue with a GPS Unit losing all 250,000 preloaded geocaches. Customer Service spent over an hour with me trying to get them back but couldn't. They apologized and sent a replacement. Can't ask for anything any better.

Garmin Drivesmart 65. Worst gps navigation product ever, waste of time effort and money

Will not lookup addresses, by number street city state. Will not look up by building name, will not find any nearby streets. Stuck on 40% brightness, cannot adjust brightness when plugged into outlet or handheld. Can't update program because it only hooks up with computers not tablets. Wasted HOURS trying to get help from Garmin. NO USE WHATSOEVER. Constantly hung on by garmin help desk. Will not save routes when imputed into devise. POS don't waste $ on this garbage devise.

I had the very best experience ever…

I had the very best experience ever when I contacted the help line regarding my faulty Garmin Forerunner735XT watch.
The bloke I spoke with couldn't do enough to assist me and when he wasn't able to reset my watch over the phone offered me a fantastic deal on a replacement watch.
And on top of that the turn around time was fantastic.
Well done Garmin I will be telling everyone about my great experience with your people and company,
thanks
Russell

Don't by an Instinct watch for the heart rate monitor

The wrist heart rate monitor on Garmin Instinct watch works very poorly for outdoor activities such as hiking, snowshoeing backcountry skiing. According to my watch I work harder playing a round of golf or sitting at home than climbing 1300 m to a mountain top. The GPS works well.

Horrible company! Rip off

I purchase a garmin, gps for four wheeling in case of an accident. I only use my 4 wheeler 9 times a year. 72.00 dollar disconnection fee. I’m also tired of trying to sync my garmin by walking around in circles. Just a horrible company!
